When we read the news, we were a little baffled. One boy, Graham Dessert, has accomplished an unthinkable feat: 365 days in a row of Hero Wod Murph.
Yes, you read that correctly!
The 40-year-old American performed one of the heaviest workouts in the CrossFit® world, exactly from February 22, 2020 to February 21, 2021. He performed this hero wod wearing a vest and in RX mode.
To be exact, they have been traveled 1174 km, made 36.500 pull-up, 73.000 push-up e 109.500 squatting in total!
To the question of the "Why?", The athlete said that the idea was born in the middle of the pandemic as the pits were closed and he had "More free time".
However, the American is always been followed by a professional to realize this madness! Dessert had like best time for the closing of the Murph 34'48 '' and its worst time it was 1 hour and 30 minutes ... what to say? crazy stuff!

365 of Hero WOD Murph: the risks of such an undertaking
It must be said that accomplishing such a feat, even if we were talking about a professional athlete, can do more harm than good. After all, repeatedly performing the same movement over a long period of time is, without a doubt, a invito a qualche lesione o accident.
When we perform any exercise, the muscle fibers of our body they break and, in the process of recovery from these breaks, the body makes the bigger and stronger muscles.
By repeating the workout for the same body part without the right amount of time, this process of fiber reconstruction is hindered. Plus, it tends to cause muscle stress, which leads to a decrease in the level of anabolic hormones, responsible for muscle and tissue building, and an increase in catabolic hormones, compromising gains.
And that's not all: when too stressed, already micro-broken muscle fibers can suffer greater damage. Another important aspect that should not be underestimated is the attention not to overload other joints or other parts of the body, to protect the muscles that have not yet completely healed.
I recommend you guys!
A suggestion? Don't invent workouts
We have noticed, especially in this last period, the increase in "self-taught athletes " is they create their own wods. It occurs particularly in those who have already practiced sport for some time and therefore feel ready to create training schedules to be performed daily.
However, this can be dangerous!
Let's think together: you will hardly choose those exercises that you do not like and that you do only when you are forced to the box, because the WOD foresees it, right?
Here ... this is the point: you will always end up choosing the same skills. Which is pretty much the same madness that Dessert did with the Hero Wod Murph, in smaller extent, but the same error.
Always follow the advice of a professional coach
It has already been said, but we consider it important to remind you, of always follow the directions of a coach. The boxes never do "random" workouts, there are professionals in the sector who always think about workouts as a whole and with a specific reason, for every day of the week.
If you want to train at home, always ask for an expert opinion instead of just setting your wod. The coaches are trained professionals, taking a variety of courses, including CrossFit® Inc, so always listen to their advice!
