Katrin Davidsdottir is ready to say goodbye to CrossFit®. After a stellar career, with two CrossFit® Games titles (2015 and 2016) and so many memorable moments, he decided to stop competing at high levels.
The news of his retirement came from unofficial channels: a video on the YouTube channel of Talking Elite Fitness. During the program, Tommy Marquez he said he spoke with Katrin and confirmed that she wanted to leave competitive CrossFit®.
The Lauren Kalil, always of Talking Elite Fitness, added that he was already aware of this choice, thanks to Preslie Hirsch, media manager of HWPO (a project in which Katrin is actively involved).
In fact, Katrin and Preslie Hirsch returned from a trip to Indonesia organized by World Playground, a project led by Hirsch, which could mark the beginning of a new adventure in Katrin's life, away from racing.
If you want to recover the video with the news, unfortunately it is no longer possible: has been removed from YouTube and also changed on podcast platforms.
However, once the rumor was out, the discussion heated up. And it took Katrin a few days to confirm her farewell with an Instagram post.

Katrin's farewell post
Katrin Davidsdottir: An incredible career
Katrin was one of the strongest and most beloved CrossFit® athletes. With 10 Games qualifications and two victories, she has become an icon not only for her performances but also for her attitude.
She has always remained a point of reference in the community, motivating athletes of all ages. Her passion and charisma have made her a star, especially in her native Iceland.
Now, however, she seems ready to concentrate on other projects, such as Empower by dóttir, created together with Annie Thorisdottir.
This project is dedicated to improve the health of women more mature and growing rapidly, with over 10.000 followers on Instagram. Maybe Katrin will use her free time to give this initiative a final push.
In the meantime, let's wait and see: will Katrin Davidsdottir really hang up her boots, or will we see her back in action?
