What is hyaluronic acid?

It is a large molecule of XNUMX/XNUMX cup sugar, naturally produced by our body.

This substance has the task of moisturizing, revitalizing and volumizing the skin. However, with time and with the aging process, the body decreases the ability to produce it, giving a more aged and tired appearance.

What ishyaluronic acid

As mentioned before, it is normal to see that as the years go by, the skin's hydration and elasticity decrease, favoring the appearance of wrinkles, marks and spots on the skin.

For this reason, many people choose to use hyaluronic acid to promote skin rejuvenation due to its beneficial effects.

The main results found are:

  • Improvement of elasticity;
  • Decreased flaccidity;
  • Reduction of expression lines;

It can be used through the application of creams, serum, pills or even through injections, but its use should be checked by a specialist.

How to use

The use of hyaluronic acid can vary depending on the goal and the doctor can indicate the best application of this substance.

Face cream and serum

hyaluronic acid

Cosmetic products that contain hyaluronic acid promote skin hydration since they retain a large amount of water. The result is firm and smooth looking skin.

These products should be used by both men and women from 45 years of age.

How to use it: use a small amount of cream directly on the skin, 3 to 4 times a week.

Risultati: Applying hyaluronic acid creams or serum has better results in preventing and treating wrinkles, however, it can be used when the person already has wrinkled skin, to help moisturize the skin and give it a healthier, younger look .

Side effects: it usually does not cause side effects but, in some people, an allergic reaction may arise, leading to symptoms such as redness of the skin or itching and, in these cases, the application should be stopped and the dermatologist consulted.

Hyaluronic acid in injectable gel

It is a product in the form of a gel, indicated for filling wrinkles, furrows and facial expression lines. It is usually applied around the eyes, in the corners of the mouth and in the forehead.

It is also often used to increase the volume of the lips and cheeks, to correct dark circles and acne scars.

How to apply it: hyaluronic acid should always be applied by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon in dermatological clinics.

The practitioner makes small punctures in the area where the substance is intended to be applied and uses local anesthesia to reduce the sensitivity and pain of the pinches.

This procedure takes on average 30 minutes and there is no need for hospitalization.

How long does it last?

The results of its application appear immediately after the procedure, and last from 6 months to 2 years, depending on everyone's body, the amount of gel and the depth and amount of wrinkles present.

After applying the acid it is common to see swelling and bruising on the area as well as some pain, but they usually go away within a week.

However, to reduce the discomfort, you can apply ice packs for about 15 minutes, several times a day.

Prices

Hyaluronic acid has very variable costs because it depends on the quality of the product and the quantity that is used. Normally 1cc of hyaluronic acid from the best brands in the world costs from € 350 to € 500.
