10 rookies (M and F) to watch at the 2023 CrossFit® Games

In CrossFit® Games, the term “rookies” refers to participants taking part in the event for the first time, athletes making their debut as competitors.

Usually it is about emerging athletes who have demonstrated exceptional talent and qualified for the Games having passed a series of tests (Open, Quarterfinals e Semifinals).

There are so many rookies in this edition of the Games, which we advise you to follow closely since they represent a new generation of athletes that could emerge as protagonists in the world of CrossFit®.

10 female rookies to watch

Manon Angonese

The Belgian Manon Angonese he has been participating in the Open since 2016 and has reached the Semifinals twice in a row. With a 7th place in the overall standings, she snatched the ticket to her first appearance at the Games this year.

Ella Wunger

This is the third time the Swedish athlete Ella Wunger participate in the Semifinals. By finishing third in the final WOD of the European semi-final, she secured qualification for her first Games.

Rebecca Vitesson

Olivia Kerstetter

Abigail Domit

Abigail she started in 2021, competing in teams, but failed to make it past the Semifinals. Last year she, in the individual, she finished 16th at the Syndicate Crown. She finished eighth this year and she got her ticket to Madison.

Emily de Rooy

Emily de Rooy won 2 WODs in her second semifinal. These excellent results have allowed her to receive an invitation to the Games.

Shelby Neal

Shelby Neal she came to the Games as a teenager in 2016 and 2017, where she finished 8th and 6th respectively. This year is the third time she has reached the Semifinals, as an individual elite athlete.

Caroline Stanley

Caroline Stanley started CrossFit® at 17 years old. Six years later, she qualified for the first time.

AlexiaWilliams won the last WOD of the Semifinal of Copa Sur and finished second overall. You thus won the second and last ticket to the Games of this competition.

Originally from Argentina, Williams started CrossFit® in 2021 and immediately qualified for the semifinals and will be making her first appearance as a rookies this year.

Kelly Baker

Kelly Baker he has already participated in the Games twice (2016 and 2022), but in the team category. She finished XNUMXth in the American Northwest semifinal and earned her first invitation as an individual athlete.
