5 ways to do the things you don't feel like doing

Life would be beautiful if we could only do it what we like to do, it's not true? But if that were the case, those unpleasant chores like laundry, paying taxes, or even tackling a difficult topic with someone, would be those tasks that they would always remain unpaid.

Moreover, the best books would never be written, the achievements of humanity would only be dreams never realized ...

Yes I know, these are complex and boring speeches.

But I ask you to reflect… What do you do when you find in the WOD a skill you don't like or don't like particularly?

In my case there were three solutions: do not go to the box that day, do the best of my ability by performing the exercise with technique (and therefore not closing the wod) or find a scaled solution.

This process requires all of a few mental and emotional factors, however extremely necessary. Being honest with yourself is the first step to become a complete athlete.

There will be many, many times when you find yourself in a complicated situation, such as a race, and you have to doing things you don't feel like doing.

This is why I have decided to list the 5 ways to accomplish any task you don't feel like doing:

MEDITATE

Think about the reason you do it. Why is this skill needed? What is he working on?

As I said before it is important to remember that if you are going to compete, you will have to make everything fit you and face every test.

Hate i burpees? Well, as cardio it is top.

Le Wall ball do they slaughter you? Know that it is a metabolic conditioning tool with enormous potential!

As you can see, everything has its positive side.

ADDRESSING FEARS

The thing that you prevents more to perform a skill is the fear.

You are afraid of getting hurt, of not being able to do it and ending up making a bad impression in front of your teammates and the coach, you are afraid of feeling uncomfortable and like a failure ... right?

So take some time to look within and face this fear.
Feel it.
Accept it as part of you and stop running away.

LET GO

If you follow my reasoning, starting from the moment fear disappears, you can perform a exercise more easily.

Yet, it doesn't always happen that way. Why?

Sometimes we have many thoughts, many preconceptions and negative experiences that hinder the execution. Then let go and just embrace reality: don't think about it and do what you have been taught.

FOCUS LESS ON RESULTS

Many times we are so focused on the result that we blur the true nature of the sport: the divertissement.

You know those double unders that don't come out? Patience. Focus on the intention!

Want to get that damn rope under your feet quickly by doing 2 laps? Try and try again and be happy if only one or two come out. The result will come over time!

ACCEPT THAT YOU CANNOT BE GOOD AT EVERYTHING

Everyone is brought for something. You can never excel.

Think about Mat Fraser, he was never very good at swimming or running. But he took it home 5 consecutive victories at the Games.

Difficult things suck and don't make us want to face them, but life isn't always plain sailing. Embrace the whole experience that comes to you and remember that our existence would be really boring without any obstacles!

See you at the box (at least I hope!) 😉
