6 reasons to do CrossFit®

Ok I confess it: when I thought about CrossFit®, they came to mind super strong and muscular women that lifted stratospheric weights; just imagining it, I already felt back pain.

I sided with the common thought that this sport was excessively heavy and I believed that the practitioners hurt themselves with every training; however, at the same time, I asked myself:

How can such an activity have so many followers?

It was then that I dropped all my prejudices and looked for specialized people who teach CrossFit® to really know what it is and I found out that yes, it is true, there are women who lift very heavy loads, but it goes far beyond that!

CrossFit® is considered one complete sport, able to transform body and health in a short time. These are functional exercises ad high intensity they make work all areas of the body, including movements from gymnastics and weight lifting.

After trying the classes, I was able to reflect on what i think can be 6 reasons to sign up for CrossFit® and I created this list:

1. It is an ongoing challenge

All practitioners say that CrossFit® is stimulating: as you get better you get stronger, overcome yourself and you can do exercises that previously seemed impossible .; the more you do, the more you want to continue, I guarantee it!

2. The gym is boring, CrossFit® is exciting

Many people, like me, first trained only in the gym and then moved on to CrossFit®. This changes your life: the workouts are interesting, always different from each other.

The atmosphere of the box is also different, it becomes a group and the participants help and motivate each other.

3. Exercise your whole body

As mentioned before, high intensity activity works on all areas of the body. All skills are aimed at improving coordination, balance and increasing the feeling of well-being.

In fact, at the end of the training, you are destroyed, but happy to have completed the work to be done!

4. Lose weight and tone

For those who start the first 15 days are the worst. There is a lot of muscle pain and maybe the thought of giving up is constant, but after a month the first results are noticed: the body starts to adapt and the changes are evident.

The body is more toned, breathing capacity increases and the first signs of weight loss are noticed!

5. It is suitable for all ages

Of course, everyone can practice it, but with the necessary precautions! Those who have problems with their back or some other muscle district must specify this to the coach.

For those who are older, it is advisable to be followed by a professional to avoid injury, since the WOD is the same for everyone.

6. Train your body and mind

This is a concept that I feel is mine. Many people use CrossFit® as a relief valve. Releasing stress with physical activity is the best way to stay healthy.
