Greg Glassman did discharged for his controversial comments on the movement Black Lives Matter.
According to reports from the CFHQ itself, Dave Castro will be appointed new CrossFit® CEO, after Greg Glassman resigned from the position, following a tacky comment who did on Twitter about the Black Lives Matter movement, responding with a blunt “It's FLOYD-19”.
The Press release of Glassman reads the following:
“I resign from the position of CEO of CrossFit®, Inc. and also decided to retire from the scene. On Saturday I created a rift in the worldwide CrossFit community and inadvertently injured many of its members.
Ever since I founded CrossFit® 20 years ago, it quickly became the largest gym network in the world. Everyone is aligned in offering an elegant solution to the annoying problem of chronic diseases.
Create CrossFit® and supporting his affiliates and his legion of professionals has been a job of love.
Those who know me know that my only problem has always been the epidemic of chronic diseases that grips our world. I know the CrossFit® is the solution to this epidemic and that CrossFit headquarters and its staff have been tirelessly serving CrossFit affiliates for years® all over the world in a masterly way.
I can't let my behavior hinder the mission of headquarters or affiliates. They are too important to jeopardize it "

OTHER CONSEQUENCES
The reactions to Glassman's comment seem to have no end.
Training director Nicole Carroll resigned after 16 years working for the company, Reebok ended collaboration with CrossFit®, Rogue announced it will remove the logo from the event Rogue Invitational 2020 which will take place this weekend (of which Reebok is the new partner) and beyond a thousand gyms around the world have announced plans to remove membership from CrossFit.
Some of the biggest names in the sport have spoken out against Glassman's comments, including Rich Froning, Tia Clair Toomey e Katrin Davidsdottir.
Glassman responded to the chaos that surrounds him by saying:
“I made a mistake with the words I chose yesterday. My heart is deeply saddened by the pain I have caused. It was a mistake; not racism, but a mistake. "
