HIIT training, the pillar of CrossFit®: we understand what it is

Everyone knows that exercise is of great importance for anyone who wants to have one healthy life.

So, today we talk about two modes of exercises that are quite popular recently: HIIT and CrossFit®.

What are their benefits? Who can do them? What should I choose?

Practitioners of HIIT and even CrossFit® face it every day new challenges. The objectives can be different: put down the belly, develop abdominals, increase in lean mass, loss of body fat. But it is a fact that at every workout, the coach gives us new exercises and we must always leave the comfort zone to complete a WOD. And this applies to both disciplines.

That's why we see together now what are the main differences between HIIT and CrossFit®

HIIT

The acronym HIIT comes from English High-Intensity Interval Training, commonly known as "cardio training". It consists of a method of high intensity training e molto veloce. There are several repetitions with a short break period at intervals. This mode is suitable for all those who are healthy and with a suitable medical certificate. However, if you have been stationary for a long time, you may have difficulty practicing it for the first few days, until your body adapts to the rhythm of the exercises.

HIIT does not use no additional weight, but only your own body weight. You can exercise at home or even outdoors, alone or with apps that tell you how much exercise you should do.

What few people know is that theHIIT training is one of the pillars of CrossFit®.

CrossFit®

You who go to the box every day should notice many elements of HIIT in your WOD. The official definition of CrossFit® is: functional movements, constantly varied and to high intensity. Furthermore, in addition to high intensity, Greg Glassman, founder of CrossFit®, has added other disciplines such as gymnastics and weightlifting, which directly contribute to a increase of force, flexibility, mobility and coordination, improving the results.

The CrossFit® will make you pull and lift weights, turn a tractor wheel, climb a rope, throw sandbags, jump over obstacles and many other exercises that require maximum body performance in a short time - all this for improve your health and make you become a complete athlete, ready to face all the challenges of life.

It is important to reiterate that a box can teach these modes only if it has been legally authorized by CrossFit® Inc., the international association that manages sport around the world.

Therefore, it is one lifestyle which requires a lot of coaching technique, preparation and credibility.

Which mode should you choose?

We can't say which is the best, because both provide high intensity exercises.

The CrossFit®, however, offers much more than just the practice of a WOD: brings an experience, a life together with the community, a real one family of crossffitters.

The atmosphere in the pits is usually welcoming and i coach are prepared to give you the right charge and motivation through stimulating and suitable workouts for all people!
