CrossFit® women: is it really suitable?

As a non-professional athlete, I often find myself at talk about this discipline. Between chatter and different opinions on how CrossFit® can become one lifestyle, I came across an article online of a girl who, like me, has succumbed to the magic of this great woman crossfitter family.

The desires are many, but practically all of us want: lose a few pounds, firm the lower back and tone arms and abdomen. Since the gym has not attracted too much for some years now, lately we often talk about the pits. Well, I first noticed changes in my body composition in the first few weeks.

THE CROSSFIT® AND ITS BENEFITS FOR WOMEN

It's a workout intense and stimulating which brings fast results and is extremely motivating.

Another important factor for those who practice it is the post-workout release of endorphins e Serotonin (good mood hormone). These two substances make women feel better and give more energy to deal with everyday problems and fight the symptoms of so-called premenstrual tension (PMS).

Since I started, I feel better about myself. I realized that my body is one tool to achieve my goals and push my limits, and that's incredible. Every day I discover an extra and greater potential of physical and mental barriers and it's really exciting!

Inside the box we are all equal, males and females. There are no distinctions, we are all equal. The WOD is that and it is so for both girls and boys (with different loads, of course).

THE PHYSICAL SKILLS DEVELOPED WITH THE CROSSFIT®

One of the most important physical skills is the force. In both women and men, it is essential to preserve lean mass, which begins to decrease after the age of 40, when the metabolism decreases.

And strength training helps not only to preserve, but increase the lean mass. But don't frighten girls: being strong doesn't mean being extremely muscular. The feeling of power increases significantly when you become strong and you begin to realize that you are able to do things you never imagined!

One more reason for modern women to start practicing CrossFit® is that it is a quick workout: no more hours and hours spent in the gym, in an hour you work the strength part and train skills like balance, precision and flexibility.

You always finish your workout with an aerobic stimulus that not only makes you sweat, but improves your breathing capacity and helps you cope with the double working day: office and home / family.

THE BODY OF THE CROSSFITTERS

There will always be comparisons, dictated by current social models.

What is a perfect body? Skinny? High? Curvy? With a lot of breasts and a pronounced B-side?

There is no telling what the next trend will be. I have wonderful friends who are dissatisfied with their bodies simply because they don't fit the current stereotype of what is "beautiful".

Girls, self-acceptance is everything!

While you think about it, I leave you with this beautiful video "beauty in strength"

Do you still have doubts that the CrossFit is suitable for women? Not me.
