CrossFit® and gender equality

We have already written articles on physical abilities that crossfitters develop, on movement technique and on the philosophy of this sport. This time, instead, we decided to talk about a more delicate subject and that many do not take into consideration: gender equality.

As is known, male athletes of various sports receive higher monetary awards than women. It is not from now that this happens, but it has always been a very clear reality. Male dominance has always been more popular and recognized than women's sport, and when it comes to football then, these differences become abysmal.

This is where the CrossFit becomes one very different sport and that stands out from the others. All WODs are made for both men and women. There are also the famous ones WODS benchmarks, so to speak are those that bear the names of men and women, which are universal references in terms of modality and intensity. Here, the only different thing is i workloads.

Even the classes are designed the same way for everyone. There are no exercises that can be done by one rather than another. Everyone is capable of developing the necessary skills and force to increase the limits over time; regardless of whether you started now or many years ago.

Newbies have the option of climb the weights (scaled). Obviously starting from the basic, we go to improve little by little the execution even for the most complicated of movements. As far as competitions are concerned, the batteries are the same, they all do the same workout, however with loads suitable for the category.

For teams, however, things could be a little different: it depends on the organization of the event. They can be mixed or same-sex, following a planned pattern.

CrossFit® and the categories

The categories are used to divide athletes during competitions in different levels. Finding the most suitable one can help you evolve a lot, with a view to compete one day. They are divided as follows:

Also for the elite do we talk about equality?

Of course! As for the RX, things are the same!

Who competes with CrossFit® Games, whether male or female, has exactly the same treatment and respect by the organization. The Wod they are the same for both sexes (only the loads change). Everyone competes in the same arena and the cash prize for the top finishers is exactly the same. The winners also receive the most coveted title fittest on earth.

This is why CrossFit® differs so much from other sports activities. As we have repeated in several other articles, it is a sport that brings different benefits and makes no distinction.
