CrossFit® announces change in CrossFit® Affiliate Programming (CAP)

CrossFit® announced that Starting May 2, CrossFit® Affiliate Programming (CAP) and CrossFit®.com will be scheduled separately.

For those who do not know, in recent months, CAP's daily schedule and wods that were on the official CrossFit®.com website were aligned, but from now on it will no longer be like this.

The goal is to increase the exclusivity of CrossFit® (CAP) programming, at least so the American company explained in an email:

“Due to the desire to strengthen the value of CAP, we want to increase the exclusivity of our programming service. The program aims to address and prioritize the needs of our affiliates ", continue the email, "This includes equipment considerations, seasonal scheduling, weekend class schedules, and best days for benchmark workouts."

What is CrossFit® Affiliate Programming (CAP)?

Il CAP was initially unveiled in June 2021 and developed over the next six months, first as a free trial service and now as a paid subscription for $ 150 per month (CAP is currently available for a one-month free trial).

Created by Austin Malleolo, James Hobart and Spencer Hendel, it not only provides daily class plans, but also focuses on coaching development.

When the service was first announced, Nicole Carroll, CrossFit® general manager for training and education, said that "the day-to-day development of the coach is what sets the CAP apart."

Membership grew rapidly, with nearly 1.800 affiliates who signed up in the first 24 hours, and that number hit 4.000 by the end of 2021.

What is the difference between the CAP and the daily WODs of the official site?

I Daily WODs that you find for free on the CrossFit®.com official website, they will continue to be there and will follow the usual approach of 3 days ON and one day OFF; scaling options and motion demonstrations will still be offered.

The CAP's split move, though, was clearly made to highlight its value as a paid subscription.

Also in the announcement sent by e-mail, CrossFit® pointed out that:

“The CAP is created by experienced coaches, affiliated box owners, CrossFit® Seminar Staff and head coaches with the intent of providing programming seven days a week.

We provide ongoing coaching development through daily class plans - including a warm-up, skill work, targeted coaching, and cool-down - and workout overview videos, educational tips, exclusive demos and a progressions video library. "

What do you think of this new change? Will it be productive for the community or is it yet another marketing gimmick by the American giant? We leave the comments to you!
