The information we were waiting for has finally arrived: the dates and locations for the Games in the Masters and Teen categories have been revealed.
In a post released on February 9, CrossFit® explained what's new and the strategies behind their decisions (choices which, to tell the truth, were not appreciated by many athletes).

2024 Masters CrossFit Games by Legends
The Games for Master category will take place from 29 August to 1 September. The location chosen by the organizers for this competition is Jefferson Convention Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
As the Masters division grows in popularity, the Games will also host “The Masters Team Competition.” A team competition, made up of two female athletes and two male athletes.
This division will consist of:
- 20 teams aged between 35-44 years,
- 20 teams aged 45-54 years and
- 10 teams over 55 years old.
Individuals, however, will be divided into the following age classes:
- 35-39 Years (40 men and 40 women)
- 40-44 Years (40 men and 40 women)
- 45-49 Years (40 men and 40 women)
- 50-54 Years (30 men and 30 women)
- 55-59 Years (30 men and 30 women)
- 60-64 Years (20 men and 20 women)
- 65+ Years (20 men and 20 women)

“We are incredibly excited to have the attention of the entire CrossFit® community focused on our age category athletes over Labor Day weekend. We had a very narrow window of time to secure venues that met the specific needs of each event this year. As the CrossFit® Games divisions grow and mature, we – along with our event partners – will evaluate the best dates and locations for future events,” said Dave Castro, CrossFit General Director of Sports and Education ®.
2024 Teenage CrossFit Games by Pit Teen Throwdown
For teens, the date will be the same as the Masters: always from 29 August to 1 September 2024.
However, the locations will be different as the competition takes place at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo and Pit Fitness Ranch in Three Rivers, Michigan.
The divisions, in this case, will be:
- Boys and Girls (14-15 years) – 30 athletes
- Boys and Girls (16-17 years) – 30 athletes
