We are experiencing a very particular moment with this Covid-19 pandemic, that shocked the whole world. The murder of George floyd created another very delicate situation: it brought to light the problem of structural racism ignored by many.
Some important names in sports, like Ben bergeron (@benbergeron), coach of several athletes like Katrin Davidsdottir, posted a video explaining that he didn't believe racism was still so present in our lives.
Yes, racism it still exists and is alive within the community CrossFit ©. This Monday, in a chat between athletes, the athlete Jessica griffiths, who participated in CrossFit © Games, apparently used the word "nigger"Which is considered one serious racial offense in English.
Chandler Smith (@blacksmifff) would have complained about the expression used and another Games athlete, Travis Williams (@travismwilllliams), would take on Jessica's defense insulting Chandler. The fact is that this chat has been made public and the community reaction was immediate: Jessica canceled her Instagram and Travis had to publicly apologize.
However, both are been disconnected by MisfitAthletics (@misfitathletics), which they were part of. Instead Chandler has decided not to participate in the next Games anymore:

Glassman and the misplaced tweets
Who caused the most fury was Greg Glassman, owner and founder of CrossFit ©, in his recent position both with a box that has requested to remove the affiliation, and with a tweet to say the least embarrassing.
The former Rocket CrossFit, affiliated since 2011, sent an email to Glassman explaining the reasons why they wanted to ask him to remove the affiliation. Among the main reasons, there was the fact that CrossFit © should not take a position on the movement BLACK LIVES MATTER.
With a extremely heavy and rude response, Greg Glassman used disrespectful arguments against the box owner about the matter. Everything has obviously been published!
To finish off, Glassman replied to a Tweet from the director of the Institute of Health and Evaluation Metrics who said:
“Racism and discrimination are critical public health issues that require an urgent response. #BlackLivesMatter "
Glassman replied with "It's Floyd-19", referring to a macabre word game between Covid 19 and the death of George Floyd.
Then add:
“Was it your bankruptcy model that put us in quarantine and are you now looking for a solution to racism? The brutal murder of George Floyd sparked nationwide riots. Quarantines have occurred in every age and under all political regimes due to an underground current of suspicions, mistrust and riots. Thanks!"
But now the damage has been done and there have been many repercussions, some more serious than others.
Reebok abandons CrossFit ©
In fact, Reebok has decided to end collaboration with the brand because of Glassman's statements.
In a note sent to FN Reebok we read:
“Our collaboration with CrossFit HQ will end later this year. Recently, we discussed the possibility of finding a new agreement, however, in light of recent events, we decided to end our partnership with CrossFit © headquarters. "
