If indeed you read a little bit of motivational stuff, as I like to call it, you will see a nice line dedicated to concentration during training: you are in the weight room (or box) to train, not for chatting, wasting time on Facebook, or taking 200 photos of yours behind in pump after yet another series of hip thrust.

On this I agree: phone and rocker arms should be well apart.

But what to do when you have the WOD on screen?

As always, the digital stores I'm a labyrinth: you can't think of a typical phrase I would like an app to help me train, that the proposals multiply, sending you into confusion.

There are app for the management - more or less random - of WODs, for planning training cycles, for motivation, for nutrition. Around, a galaxy of other useful software: stopwatches, pedometers, and so on.

Let's see if this short list can help you choose.

SugarWOD (Android, Apple)

SugarWOD is one of many community apps designed for the CrossFit® world. It serves for connect the athletes of a box to each other (and in the box itself), taking advantage of the “motivation” of the box atmosphere to push them to always give their best. The relationship that is created while alive is enhanced by the app also thanks to fistbumps - these made me smile - i like by SugarWOD.

His motto? Raise the bar - raise the bar.

Beyond the Whiteboard - btwb (Android, Apple)

A classic. Here too, part of the app is designed for the coach and the box, the other for the athletes. Not only that: by registering you can get a schedule of daily workouts (with dumbbells or bodyweight), while with a premium subscription you can monitor your nutrition. There is no shortage of educational videos on the exercises.

CrossFit® Games (Android, Apple

The official CrossFit® app, linked to none other than the GAMES. The application has several functions:

A simple app that allows you to keep track of workouts - retrieving with a click those already completed - and to compare data and statistics.

This is a bit frivolous, but sometimes a little lightness is there. To all intents and purposes a "wheel of fortune", able to give you a WOD selected among the 100k present.

Let's say you don't do serious programming, but you can spice up an afternoon of training with friends. And, why not, a game of penance!
