Eddie Hall says he'll be back in the ring soon and challenges Hafthor Björnsson (again)

On October 23, 2021, the champion of the World's Strongest Man (WSM) Eddie Hall went on his own Youtube channel to broadcast an update on his health and issued a challenge to his next opponent in the ring: Hafthor “The Mountain” Bjornsson.

In the two-minute and 57-second video, Hall claims that his biceps were successfully reattached after surgery - broke his biceps during a sparring session - and that just over three months after surgery, he has already returned to training at full capacity.

In all of this, he wanted to rush Björnsson and the promoters of their meeting to get a confirmed date and place.

Furthermore, Hall has agreed that the loser of the match between him and "The Mountain" will have to donate $ 100.000 to charity to an institution of the winner's choice.

The dispute between Hall and Björnsson

La Hall's $ 100.000 wager may seem risky (given its recent accident to the biceps); of course, because while Hall underwent surgery, rehabilitation and limited training, Björnsson gained further experience in the ring especially against Hall's replacement in their bout, Devon Larratt.

Although Björnsson was dominant and won against Larratt, Hall posted a video review of his reactions, calling the encounter "sloppy".

It must be said that since the date of their fight was set, defined as “The heaviest boxing match in history“, In May 2020, Hall showed no respect for Björnsson's fighting style.

He criticized all of Björnsson's matches against Simon Vallily and Steven Ward and appeared indifferent in the match against Larratt.

In his recent video, Hall takes a close-up with the camera to reiterate his take on Björnsson's boxing skills:

I'm not impressed in the least. In the two years since we signed the contract, I haven't seen a single punch from him that made me think, "woooow, this would hurt."

Hall continued to rate Björnsson not based on his training progress, which caused him to lose an enormous amount of weight, but rather on his physical appearance.

Björnsson recently appeared on Logan Paul's IMPAULSIVE podcast and called Hall a "fat". Hall retaliated by stating that he thinks Björnsson looks alike to "a shriveled, stressed and frightened old man" who "hasn't slept in a year."

Hall's $ 100.000 charity bet stemmed from the "trust" he sees in Björnsson. It's a time to think about facts (and money!) And not just words!

If you are so sure, pull the trigger [of the bet].

Next match in 2022?

The meeting between Hall and Björnsson was speculated for March 2022, even if no specific date or place has yet been confirmed.

Should Björnsson take Hall's bet, the stakes of the match will be weighed down not only by pride in their rivalry, but also by a six-figure prize pool for charity.
