Hafthor Björnsson accepts and raises Eddie Hall's charity bet

2017 World's Strongest Man (WSM) champion Eddie Hall finally got the answer he wanted from Hafthor Björnsson.

The 23 October 2021, Hall challenged Björnsson: the loser of their match would have had to pay $ 100.000 to a charity of the winner's choice.

So far Björnsson hadn't responded to Hall's challenge, so "The Beast" upped the ante, stating that if Björnsson wins, Hall will donate $ 200.000.

It took nearly two weeks for Björnsson to respond to Hall's initial challenge, but the 2018 WSM champion not only accepted the bet, but has raised the stakes once again.

If Hall agrees, a total of $ 400.000 will be guaranteed to the winner's chosen charity. Check out Björnsson's entire response to Eddie Hall's challenge in the video below:

In Hall's second video, he said he had "Heard from a mutual friend that [Björnsson] doesn't want to make the deal because he's afraid of losing."

Björnsson refutes that claim, explaining that his lack of response was not because he was ignoring him, but that he only had more important things to do.

“I didn't ignore you. I have other things in my life that I need to take care of: training, sleep, my new diet and, of course, my family. "

Hafthor Björnsson's answer

After clarifying the timing for the response to the bet, "The Mountain" accepted the agreement, stating:

“I'm absolutely inside. I'm excited for this meeting. "

However, it didn't stop there. Björnsson balanced the deal so that both he and Hall have to drop $ 200.000 no matter who emerges victorious in the ring.

"Winning or losing, we both donate money, we both win and we donate more to charity."

Björnsson agreed that the winner of the match will decide the charity. On the same day that Björnsson's video was released, Hall went to his YouTube channel to reply:

La the clause of the bet will be written in their contracts to ensure that none of the athletes can back down.

Hall said he would choose a charity involved in mental health aid, however, he wasn't satisfied that the winner and loser of their match had to donate the same amount.

Hall has extended an additional clause of the bet to Björnsson: the loser of their battle donates $ 1.000.000.

If Björnsson accepts this further modification from Hall, $ 1,2 million * will be donated to charity regardless of the outcome of the fight.

* Note: Hall spoke in "dollars" in his video, but the title of the video is written in pounds. For reference, £ 1,2 million is $ 1.618.902 at the time of this article's publication.

At the time of this article's publication, news broke that Björnsson rejected the $ 1 million increase saying it would be "irresponsible" for him to do so.

“The Moutain” has instead upped the ante in a more personal way, betting that the loser should have tattooed the other man's name labeled "The strongest man in the world".

Check out the video below of Björnsson throwing the challenge to Hall, courtesy of Björnsson's YouTube channel:

Hall wasted no time and immediately responded to Björnsson by accepting his bet on the tattoo. Although Björnsson didn't specify where they should get tattooed, Hall said Björnsson should have tattooed it. "On [his] ass"!

The heaviest boxing match in history

Considering Hall took Björnsson's tattoo bet and thwarted anything beyond the $ XNUMX million raise for charity, which Björnsson turned down, the stakes towards the match are:
