How to strengthen the immune system through herbs

There are some herbs and natural nutrients which help support immune function; let's find out what they are!

REISHI MUSHROOM (GANODERMA LUCIDUM)

Reishi mushroom is a dark mushroom very large, with a glossy surface and a woody texture; is called "The mushroom of immortality" and is found at the base of trees such as maples (only on 2 or 3 specimens per 10.000!).

It contains approx 400 bioactive compounds, including i polysaccharides and triterpenes, highly sought after.

The Reishi strengthens the immune system innate and adaptive; it is found in tablets, powder and liquid format and should be taken as supplement during periods in which you are more prone to drops in immune defenses.

ANNUAL ARTEMISY

Artemisia annua, known as sweet absinthe, is a very old herb, used since 160 BC, especially in Chinese culture.

These herbs are very useful for rebalance immune responses and to prevent over-stimulation and excessive inflammation. Mugwort has a bitter taste and is used to make decoctions and liqueurs.

URSOLIC ACID

This acid is a compound found within the apple peels, of other fruits, in rosemary, in Thyme; And in the elderberry flowers.

It has been shown that theursolic acid increases the production of interferon-gamma (IFN-g), present in the immune response adaptive cell phone.

It appears to have a strong mechanism for controlling the inflammatory response; foods that contain it should never be lacking in our diet.

TURMERIC ROOT

Research has shown that turmeric is also a powerful immuno-modulator. The benefits for the immune system derive from the action of turmeric on intestinal bacteria; they interact within the digestive tract and regulate its absorption into the bloodstream.

The intestinal wall contains the 70% of the cells that make up the immune system and a healthy intestinal microbiome contains bacterial species that have a beneficial action; turmeric helps make these species work by providing systemic benefits.

BOSWELLIA SERRATA

La boswellia serrata it's a Indian incense; comes from the resin of a very large branched tree found in the mountainous regions of India.

Its two main active ingredients are theketo-beta-boswellic acid (KBA) and theacetyl-keto-beta-boswellic acid, both useful to support an immune and anti-inflammatory action.

This resin appears to increase the production of antibodies and B and T lymphocytes, increasing the immune response when it is needed most.

It can be taken in liquid or tablet form, but the second option is much better given that its resinous consistency makes it difficult to swallow.
