Justin Medeiros before and after CrossFit®

Justin Medeiros is a 23-year-old CrossFit® athlete who has been named Rookie of the Year in 2020, it is classified third overall at the 2020 CrossFit® Games, won i Games in 2021 and now also in 2022 in Madison.

Even though he is very young, Justin has a long history of competing. Before CrossFit®, was a wrestler and football player during his high school years in Lodi, a California city with fewer than 70.000 inhabitants.

This is what Justin was like before doing CrossFit®.

Medeiros participated for the first time at California Regional in 2017 and ranked 15th at age 18. The following year, CrossFit® performed a regional alignment and the athlete participated in the West Regional, a competition filled with experienced athletes. He finished in 14th place.

In 2019, the Regionals were replaced by the Sanctionals. Justin participated in the Granite Games and was in qualifying position until final training, which revealed his weakness and caused the athlete to finish at 10 points for the qualification for the CrossFit® Games 2019.

Adam Neiffer was Justin's coach for a couple of years. The American athlete qualified in 20202 for the Games early in the season, dominating the Filthy 150 tournament.

Think Justin Medeiros added CrossFit® training to his routine when he was 13 to improve his fighting and soccer skills.
