Interview with Manila Pennacchio, athlete who participated in CrossFit®French Throwdown 2018

And after Stefano Carosso we now see the woman exponent for this event. We interviewed Manila Pennacchio, one of the Italian athletes who participated in the last edition.

From his answers we immediately understood that it is certainly not an athlete who gives up, he is never satisfied with his performances, is always ready to challenge itself, to go beyond its abilities, to train to grow. For this reason it does not declare itself completely satisfied with the 17th place obtained during CrossFit®French Throwdown 2018. It is she herself who confides in fact: "The year before I came third, so the 2018 certainly wasn't positive for this race. It could not have been otherwise, it was only two weeks from the end of the Regionals where I had given so much e where I played the qualification for the Games. I had been training for three months just for that, I had given everything for the qualification, but I have touched it and not there I succeeded, I experienced it as a total fall, a great disappointment, a profound failure".

Unfortunately from his words we also understood how he lived the whole race with extreme difficulty, she was tired and did not feel ready. He had no desire to compete and he practically thought about the time to go to the organizers to announce his retirement, but how he used to do he didn't give up, although the nervous system, besides the physical one, was really terribly tried.

What do you think Manila Pennacchio, who will participate in CrossFit®French Throwdown 2019, of the other great athletes

Sara Armanius and Manon Angonese have arrived on a par with just under 30 points from Jacqueline Dahlstrom. Manila Pennacchio defines these athletes as very strong, has seen them grow a lot in the last year. Manon Angonese had competed with her at the German Throwdown of the 2017, an edition won by Pennacchio, followed on the podium precisely by Manon. Sara Armanius is another athlete that Manila Pennacchio claims to have always esteemed and appreciated. As regards the performance the athlete confides his opinion to us: "Every race is itself and every workout too. Then there are periods in which the athlete is more or less fit and where even the various workouts he finds are best suited or not to his preparazione and also to his way of being an athlete, to his features as such."

His thoughts are not lacking even on Louise Wickstrom, who finished third at Athens Throwdown, where Manila took fourth place. Even that race, however, was not easy for Pennacchio, she had not been through the Open very little, she was very tired. Despite everything she finished fourth, a position certainly not to be underestimated, but she herself confides in us: "I I'm never satisfied, but why when I take a fourth place I wonder the which is why I didn't finish third". And it also reveals to us to be aware of having to train his mental attitude even more than the physical.

We will see Manila Pennacchio at the CrossFit®French Throwdown 2019, but will participate in team, a very strong Spanish team that aims to reach the top .. in Bocca al Lupo!
