Mat Fraser creates a training program for the Games

Getting to the Nobull CrossFit® Games is the dream of every elite athlete in our sport. However, the road is tough and the battle is long, only the best of the best can do it.

With this in mind, the king of CrossFit® decided to give athletes a little help. In retired since 2019, Mat Fraser, the greatest champion in the history of the Games, has decided to create a training program to prepare elite athletes for the semifinals of the CrossFit® Games.

Mat Fraser and his special HWPO PRO program

The five-time champion in collaboration with HYBRID Performance Method, launched a special program, called HWPO PRO, geared towards elite athletes who want to make it to the semifinals and, of course, the CrossFit® Games.

However, HWPO PRO provides intensive training of three or four hours a day, six days a week. The program will essentially follow the competitive season of CrossFit®, preparing athletes for the Open 22, quarter-finals, semi-finals and Games.

Each workout will be based on Fraser's entire experience during his years of competition.

“This is what I did. This is what worked for me. I have this knowledge through experience, ”Fraser told al Morning Chalk Up website.

Fraser also states that the program will be three or four days with two training sessions, with one day of low impact and one day of complete rest.

"This is the program that I have practically stuck to for the last five years of my career."

HWPO PRO will be different from HWPO

Fraser explained that the HWPO PRO will be similar to his HWPO main project, but with much more volume, as well as more specific training for the Games.

Fraser's basic HWPO program focuses on the well-being of athletes with workouts that will evolve the athlete or student, but not with the idea of competing in the Games.

While HWPO PRO has as its final goal the participation in the most anticipated fitness stage of the year: the Games.

Fraser explains that he has included more skills to prepare athletes for the very difficult tests that are created every year by the legendary Dave Castro:

“The idea is to put the training together so that the athletes can see what they will face in the semifinals and at the Games. We are trying to offer a program that is applicable to as many people as possible, but as everyone knows, there is a big difference between a generic program and a custom program, ”Fraser explained.

So the former athlete's idea is that the program can help competitors find out what their greatest difficulties are and then work to improve on specific points!
