Phill Toon, Nasser Alruwayeh and Pedro Martins caught for doping

Unfortunately it is so ... Every year we see more and more athletes being caught for doping due to the use of banned substances.

Today we are featuring three other guys, two of which are, to say the least, curious.

The first case is that of Nasser Alruwayeh (@nasseralruwayeh). She amazed us the dynamics of the notification... We explain: before the official list came out on the CrossFit® website announcing its elimination for the use of GW501516 (or Cardarine), the third place, the Russian Arthur Semenov (@ arthur.semenov) published in his stories the CF email inviting him to the NOBULL CrossFit® Games 2022.

What amazed us is that, usually, the official list of eliminated players is expected before another athlete is invited. Perhaps for reasons of time, the organizers moved earlier (?).

The words of Nasser Alruwayeh

“I am really sad and shocked by this news. I feel like a Ferrari ready for the race and now I can't get out on the track. I look forward to a positive outcome from my appeal. In the meantime all I can do is keep training and get stronger ”.

Alruwayeh has denied any knowledge of the intake of the prohibited substance and stated that by talking to people who are familiar with GW1516, they all said that it can be found in supplements and some medications.

The second case that has attracted attention is that of Phil Toon (@philtoon_) finished second to Granite Games.

He has published the e-mail he received from CF, in which he was informed that 2α-methyl-5α-androstan 3a-ol-17-one was detected in his analyzes; metabolite of drostanolone; 19-norandrosterone; 19-norethiocolanolone and T / EpiT (testosterone / epitestosterone) ratio of 5,25, when the acceptable is 4,0.

It was also announced that further tests will be performed to find out if the presence of 19-norandrosterone and the high T / EpiT ratio are natural or caused by external events.

Phil Toon attributed these substances to the use of Finasteride, a drug he uses to treat baldness. Finasteride was even banned by Wada in 2005 as it was used as a way to mask doping.

However, it was dropped from the list in 2009 as the exams themselves improved.

News of doping also arrives from Brazil ...

The Brazilian rookie, qualified for the CrossFit® Games, Pedro Martins, who suspended his medical career to pursue his dream at the Games, is another athlete on the growing list of positive results for a banned substance this season.

Martins took to social media explaining that he received an email from CrossFit® LLC telling him that his sample taken at the Copa Sur semifinals in Vitoria, Brazil was contaminated with the banned substance Clomiphene, thereby eliminating it. from the competition.

Pedro Martins' words:

“I asked them to analyze sample B, since it was a surprise for me, it is a substance that I do not know and I have not pinch (made with three fingers) not consciously at all."

With these news, the number of athletes caught for doping this year rises to 14:
