Reebok CrossFit® Games 2019: 3 Day

From now on, it's serious about CrossFit® Games 2019. Not that until now it has been joked, on the contrary, the first two competition days have put athletes to the test. But now we approach the gran finale, where only the best are allowed and there is no more room for errors. No time for calculations, races Saturday at Madison gave shots scene, some groans of the most unsatisfied and above all the last, sometimes sensational, cuts.

It seems like a two-man match in the men's field: unexpectedly Matt Fraser he arrives as a pursuer in the grand finale and must recover 15 points at a very concentrated Noah Olsen. The defending champion was put in crisis by the sprint race, which made several victims being the last one WOD with cut and generated a slight discontent among enthusiasts. Fraser closed with the 15 time, which forced him to win the next two events to make up ground in the standings. For his part Olsen is raising the barricades by textbook: he limits the damage where he must, he goes strong when he can and now he believes in the hunchback blow. Closes with a great Saturday (3 ° / 2 ° / 5 °) forcing Fraser to lose energy in the hunt. As said, is the Sprint not to take prisoners: they fall into the last cut Lukas Högberg, a mai in ball Patrick Vellner (also penalized by 10 ”) e Chandler Smith; also greets Sager, first of the eliminated. Save on the razor's edge Saxon Panchik winning the event. The Icelandic Guðmundsson and the other Panchik, Scott, the podium will be played with a certain margin but with little chance of aspiring to anything more.

A perfect Saturday instead allows a Tia Toomey to arrive at Day 4 with a serious mortgage on reconfirmation. The Australian phenomenon made scorched earth (3 ° / 1 ° / 1 °) leaving the crumbs to the adversaries, regardless of how much the WOD changed. It is satisfied, in a manner of speaking, of an 3 ° place in the Sprint but then cannibalizes the Split Triplet and, as Olympic weightlifting, closes the Clean at the end of the day on the runway. An empty of 85 points separates it from the first of the "normal", Kristin Holte. The Norwegian is doing some crazy Games, to be framed, were it not for the Martian of the southern continent. This does not detract from her performance - 1 ° / 5 ° / 5 yesterday - which allows her to reach the last efforts with about forty points of margin on the other ocean Jamie Greene, able to overtake one Karissa Pearce in difficulty (16 ° / 2 ° / 8 °). It goes up 5 ^ Katrin Davidsdottir, the only one of the "-Dottir" survived the final cut together with Helgadottir. Collapse of Annie Thorisdottir who surrenders in the race. The Italian-Canadian ends up outside Alessandra Pichelli with a little regret and some excellent Games. They also greet Horvath, Wells (also penalized) e Sigmundsdottir, the latter almost without a fight.

Solo by now almost repetitive that of Mayhem Freedom (1 ° / 4 ° / 1 °) in the team competition. As usual Rich Froning, Chyno Cho, Tasia Percevecz e Dre Strohm they are dominant and make others appear. It cannot be said that CrossFit® Krypton don't try (2 ° / 1 ° / 9 °), but even without the final Big Chipper crash, it would have been an unbridgeable gap. He will be fighting for second place with Central Beasts e OC3 Black, since Froning & Co. now have 157 points of advantage.

It will be a race for victory, then, with one Toomey started towards reconfirmation and a dominant question: we will really see a new king of the Games? Only the WOD of today will give us an answer, until then to wait with breath on the neck. Here are the Top 10 of the athletes who will play the finals and the WOD of a pyrotechnic Saturday.
