Mat Fraser retired? No! He talks about his new HWPO project

A few weeks have passed since the fateful day Mat Fraser announced his retirement, shocking the whole Crossfit® world.

And last week came the official note. The 31-year-old American athlete has revealed on Instagram who will begin their training program, on HWPO TRAINING PROGRAM.

The name could only be this: HWPO, or Hard Work Pays Off, something like "hard work pays off", in Italian. This became the Fraser's mantra during his eight years dedicated to this sport.

Who is it suitable for?

The HWPO program will use percentages, scaling, and tweaks to make workouts flexible, while setting a clear path for elite performance.

What equipment should i have?

Like most hybrid training programs, you will need: a rack, a barbell, discs, dumbbells, a bench and a pull-up bar.

For this program you will also need some sports specific equipment such as aAssault Bike, Bike Erg, Rower, Ski Erg, a GHD, a treadmill or a place to run outside.

You will also need some smaller tools like jump rope, ab mat, foam roller, wall ball, med ball / d-ball, sandbag and some rubber bands.

This is a Crossfit programming so ideally you will have access to a box (hoping they are reopened!) or a gym with functional equipment… Otherwise a garage with a well-equipped home gym is fine.

How many days a week is the programming?

The HWPO program provides 5 days of training full per week, one low impact day and one rest day.

How long do the workouts last?

The essential parts of the program require 60 90-minute to be completed. The program also includes additional work "bonus”For the most competitive crossfitters, which will add another 30-60 minutes to training days.
