One of the most iconic athletes on the CrossFit® scene has just announced that she has joined forces with nine-time champion Rich Froning. Kara Saunders is officially a Mayhem Team Athlete!
Saunders announced the change during an Instagram Live with Rich Froning. From their chat some news emerged, including the new exclusive collaboration between ACTIV Eyewear and Froning.

The Mayhem team
Given the recent accessions, including also Gui Malheiros, the Mayhem box will most likely carry the greater number of individual athletes at the 2022 Games and, perhaps, also in all other divisions.
Kara Saunders is now there sixth individual athlete to join Mayhem from the 2021 CrossFit® Games. Besides her, the other five names are: Guilherme Malheiros, Lazar Dukic, Agustin Richelme, Piero Gorichon and Mel Rodriguez.
Il Mayhem's full team also counts with Alex Vigneault, Royce Dunne, Samuel Cournoyer, Alexandre Caron, Aleksandar Ilin, Stas Solodov, Haley Adams, Baylee Rayl and Sasha Nievas.

During the live Kara told Froning:
“You're actually looking at your new Mayhem Athlete. I don't know if you heard that… ".

“After this year's Games, I thought a bit and decided I had to make some changes to really enjoy my time as an athlete and not lose any mental and emotional energy that could affect my family. My previous coach, Nick Fowler, was the best, such an amazing human being overall! He took so much care of me, but I actually felt like I didn't want to have a coach anymore, I just wanted to do CrossFit® and have fun. "
Saunders will move to the United States sooner so that she and her family can settle down. He will head to Cookeville and train with Froning and the rest of the Mayhem Athlete family.
The collaboration between Froning and ACTIV
Another important part of the conversation revolved around one new collaboration between Froning and Kara Saunders' eyewear brand: ACTIV.
The nine-time champion currently wears his signature pair of sunglasses, which have the Froning "R" logo, as well as the inscription Galatians 6:14, the bible verse tattooed on the ribs.
The talks between Froning and ACTIV started more than a year ago. It was decided to make limited edition Froning sunglasses.
There are only 1.000 pairs available, which will inevitably sell out in a short period of time.
