Ricky Garard taunts Fraser: “Wait for me ***. I'm coming"

Ricky Garard

The Australian athlete Ricky Garard posted on his Instagram profile a not very nice provocation towards Mat Fraser, which generated a lot of reactions in the community.

We can say that the thrill of beating Mat Fraser in the WOD Nasty Nancy at the CrossFit Games is plausible! After all, you can't win against the unbeatable without feeling strong emotions, but that excitement was a bit negative for the Australian crossfiter.

The athlete, who was banned until next year because he was accused of doping, ended the event with the time of 17:43, that is, seven seconds less by Fraser. With the result of all the WODs of the Games in hand, Garard said he would get last place for the second stage of the competition if he entered.

Taken by the enthusiasm he posted the words

"Wait for me c ** t. Arrival. @mathewfras, in more polite words, please don't retire. I want to compete with the best again ”.

The joke, however, was turned against him and there were many who attacked him on social networks. So much so that the athlete has decided to post apologizing for what happened.

In addition to reiterating that it was a general misunderstanding, he explained that the thrill of winning the most fit test on Earth ended up rekindling his flame and he can't wait to return to compete at the Games. However, he stressed that he did not, in any way, want to attack Fraser personally.

“There has been a lot of opinion and controversy about my actions after my efforts at“ Nasty Nancy ”this weekend. I just want to clarify that it was a very emotional moment for me, when I realized I had beaten Mat Fraser's time by a few seconds, I apologize to everyone who did not understand how the word c * nt is used in Australia.

When I realized I was still capable of a performance like this, a fire started inside me! It was a great release, after so many emotions I've been dealing with over the past three years.

Maybe I exaggerated, but I assure you that it was not a personal attack against Mat: it was an uncontrolled reaction, realizing that I still had the force to chase my dream of being the Fittest on Earth, a dream I have poured my heart and soul into for the past six years. I've worked hard mentally to maintain this dream and this past weekend made it seem closer than ever.

For the people who know me and who have been close to me, thank you for understanding my emotions, my passion and the desire I showed during the weekend. I am a passionate competitor and have been all my life!

I have nothing but respect for what @mathewfras has achieved with CrossFit. I just hope he is still in the race when I return for the 2022 season, because I want another chance to compete against him ”.
