Rogue invitational 2024 announces location change!

2024 has truly arrived with great news and changes across the CrossFit® landscape. After the announcements of the cboth locations of the CrossFit® Games, which will now take place in the state of Texas, it's time for a another great event to change location: the Rogue Invitational.

The announcement of the change of location

A few days ago, the company has announced the move of the competition from Texas to outside the USA! Yes, because the famous event that takes place every year after the Games, will be held in the city of Aberdeen, Scotland.

So mark in your calendar: the 6th annual Rogue Invitational 2024 will take place November 8-10 in the new location!

The reason for the change

Although It is not known whether the change of venue is actually connected to CrossFit®'s decision to bring the Games to Texas, iThe move to a new location had already been announced by Rogue Fitness co-founder and director of sales, Caity Henniger. However, the location for the event was still being evaluated by the organization.

After three years of competition at the imposing Dell Diamond in the city of Round Rock, the Rogue Invitational has decided to dare beyond the border.

An audacity that the CrossFit® Games have been trying to achieve with their editions for years. However, so far the only act of courage in this regard has been the change of state and city within the United States itself.

But we cannot ignore it the fact that the Rogue Invitational team's action could be a move to understand acceptance abroad. So that, in the future, we can actually see the Games at risk of being made outside the United States.

CrossFit® Games versus Rogue Invitational

It is important to remember that there is no rivalry between the CrossFit® Games and the Rogue Invitational, quite the contrary. Rogue Fitness has been a major brand for years sponsor of the Games, with its equipment present in all events.

Additionally, editions of the Rogue Invitational always include i 10 best athletes from the elite female and male categories of the Games, who participate in the competition.

Thus, the exit of the 2024 Rogue Invitational from Texas is unlikely to have occurred in negative terms for the events, but rather as a strategy to understand how a new possibility of broadening horizons would work.

Who are the reigning champions of the latest Rogue Invitational?

At the last Rogue Invitational, Laura Horvath won the women's title, earning her second consecutive Rogue Invitational title after edging out Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr in the final event.

On the male side, Pat Vellner maintained his lead despite pressure from fellow Canadian and 2023 CrossFit® Games champion, Jeff Adler, managing to win the final event!

Let's sum it up...

The prospect of a new home for the 2024 Rogue Invitational in Aberdeen, Scotland sparks palpable curiosity among CrossFit® enthusiasts and athletes.

Not only this change represents a significant evolution within high-level fitness events, but it also raises interesting questions on the reception of this novelty at an international level.

The decision to move such a prestigious event beyond American borders can be seen as a bold experiment that will measure not only the public's reception but also the degree of approval of the athletes participating.

We sincerely curious to see how this edition will unfold in Scotland, what challenges it will present and what new opportunities may arise from this courageous choice.
