Recap Semifinals Games: Brazil CrossFit® Championship, Lowlands Throwdown and German Throwdown

We left behind another racing weekend for the semifinals. This time three beautiful events, all in digital format: the Brazil CrossFit® Championship, the Lowlands Throwdown and the German Throwdown.

Lots of grit, sweat and tears on floor of these wonderful competitions have brought others 12 athletes directly to the final at Madison in August.

Il Lowlands took place in Netherlands and classified 5 athletes per category, German took place in Germany and here too others 5 names have passed, only to Brazilian held in Brazil ranked 2 athletes per category.

Lowlands Throwdown

The race more waiting this weekend, because a slew of veterans invaded the floor and tried to win the invitation to the Games.

For women, the top five was dominated by the veterans from day two: Emma McQuaid, Laura Horvath, Annie Thorisdottir, Gabriela Migala and Thuridur erla Helgadottir. 

For men there are three famous names that immediately stood out: Björgvin Karl Guðmundsson, Adrian Mundwiler, Uldis Upenieks, Sam Stewart and Henrik Haapalainen.

Finally, in the teams category we will see in August: CrossFit® Nordic, Team CrossFit® Holistic, Motion, Team Butchers Lab T-Bone and Bergen Limitless.

German Throwdown

Kristin Holte spent the weekend at the top of the leaderboard with a very strong performance and two event wins in the first two days. Holte dominated the CrossFit® German Throwdown, winning both events on Sunday.

The Norwegian Jacqueline Dahlstrom, on the other hand, took second place, followed by Katrin Davidsdottir.

For the team category, the CrossFit® Oslo Wolfpack put on a show! The team has never finished outside the top 3 in any WOD.

The Athlete Program team also performed well, finishing outside the top five only once (sixth in Event 3). The team didn't win any events, but they held consistent results.

Brazilian CrossFit® Championship

The dispute between women ended up being one of the most heated. There was a great show with Lari Cunha and Sasha Nievas fighting race after race for the leadership. To get an idea of ​​the level of competitiveness, the two finished the second day tied for first place.

Since Lari did not get a good place in event 4, Argentina managed to stay at the top of the standings, leaving to Sunday the decision on who would take the first place with respective invitations to the Games.

For the men, Malheiros tried to beat Argentina's Richelme who was at the top of the standings, but the 21-year-old Brazilian finished with 12 points less. Richelme returns to the Games after a few years out.

The victory was largely due to his consistency, never placing himself worse than fourth. On Sunday he finished fourth and third to take the win in the competition.

For the team category, Fourmixx Brazil dominated the South American field throughout the weekend. Made up of very strong and experienced athletes: Anita Pravatti, Susana Etto, Fábio Dechichi and Matheus Ferro who were crazy in all phases.
