Strength in Depth: recap of the 6th Sanctional event

The CrossFit® Strength in Depth is back to London this weekend (from 24 to 26 January), welcoming competitors Individual Elite, Elite team and six Master categories.

This was the sixth Sanctional event of the season and the stakes were high for athletes who were looking for the chance to earn an invitation for the next 2020 Games.

The NOCCO Arena, sold out, was the stage of a huge CrossFit® show, in an exciting final: Laura Horvath e Mayhem Freedom they took home the titles of Woman Elite and Team Elite while Matthew Fraser he continued to dominate, winning his umpteenth male title.

For women: from Hungary with a smile

Laura Horvath had only 5 points of advantage over the Polish national champion Gabriela Migala. The Hungarian athlete showed no signs of nervousness and left nothing to chance.

He dominated the final and also smiled as he finished his last overheadsquat as he took home the # 4 win over 7 events, thus securing the podium.

For men: the celebrated Fraser

Il Fittest Man of EarthMathew Fraser was a war machine, truly a monster. Unbeatable, the American athlete seemed almost effortless, winning 5 out of 7 events. Which the best way to celebrate his 30th birthday otherwise?

He lost in external events: the 6km race and rowing. In the final, a revisited Diane finished with a spectacular time of 01:42.

Team Elite: devastating Panchik and Froning

Mayhem Freedom earned its sixth consecutive Games ticket in an epic return.

After finishing ninth in the opening event and finishing in fourth place after the first day, the team of Rich Froning, Tasia Percevecz, Chyna Cho and new team member Scott Panchik have achieved five consecutive wins overtaking Team WHEY'D.

Coming to the final event with a lead of just 18 points over WHEY'D, Mayhem won the final just 5 seconds ahead of his Irish rivals.
