Calculation of the ideal weight

Who among us has never been obsessed with that damn number that appears in the morning when we weigh ourselves on the scales?

BUT WHAT IS THE IDEAL WEIGHT?

Il ideal weight it is what each of us should maintain in order to have a state of good health. Although almost always we care about this number for aesthetic needs, the maintenance of ideal weight it is an essential condition to protect the body from problems like the diabetes and cardiovascular diseases!

HOW DO YOU CALCULATE THE IDEAL WEIGHT?

There are so many mathematical formulas to do this calculation; find out some together:

WEIGHT / HEIGHT TABLE

And now let's have fun together! Take a ruler and try to calculate your ideal weight based on your height with the table below.

IDEAL WEIGHT AND SPORT

The formulas and the table that we have illustrated above, take into account height, weight and age and have a significant value in the social and medical field, but they are not applicable in the sports field! In Bodybuilding and in Power Lifting, for example, the ideal weight is well above the average proposed from those formulas, while for dancers and marathon runners it is below the theoretical standard values.

This must make us reflect on the relative value that the weight on the scale must have for us; some days we could see ourselves much better in the mirror and hear a pair of slightly wider trousers, but see a number on the scale higher than we would have expected. It's all normal for those who practice sport!

HOW TO DO?

To reach and above all to maintain the ideal weight, we must have a general idea of how many kg in excess or in deficit we have; you need to find the right strategy to increase or decrease calories based on the sporting activity practiced, the type of sedentary life or not that one leads, the work done, the constitution and many factors that make us unique.

It is a long and tortuous path, made of ups and downs, but with the right motivation and the right directions, the results will not be long in coming! The most difficult part is that of maintenance; many people, once they have reached the right weight, start again with old and bad habits, recovering the lost kg, sometimes even with interest.

It takes consistency and patience and you must never lose sight of the goal; some small relapses are part of the journey, but they must give us the opportunity force to recover and get back on track stronger than before!

Do you also fight with the scales every morning or have you managed to overcome this obsession? Let us know!
