Who won the CrossFit® Open 2023: Worldwide and Europe

Even though i results are not yet official, Jeff Adler and Mal O'Brien appear to be confirmed as winners Worldwide of the 2023 CrossFit® Open after 3 weeks of testing.

We will update this article whenever CrossFit® makes significant changes to the leaderboard.

For those who haven't figured it out, the CrossFit® Open it's aa three-week online fitness competition uniting the worldwide CrossFit® community. It marks the start of the season and is the first step towards qualification for the CrossFit® Games.

This year the Open took place from February 16 to March 6. The workouts have been posted weekly every Thursday at 21 Italian and there are a total of 37 categories (based on age, gender and ability).

After three intense weeks of announcements and crazy wods, Canadian athlete Jeff Adler and young superstar Mal O'Brien took the top spot respectively in the men's and women's divisions in the World rankings.

Instead for the Europe division, the English athlete Reggie Fasa and the Spanish athlete Elena Carratala' are probably the winners.

Our Fulix didn't disappoint us though: she finished second in Europe and 12th worldwide….Do you want to put?

Jeff Adler and Mal O'Brien: the winners of the 2023 CrossFit® Open

Male category

Although the workouts were the same for both divisions, the women's category was much tougher than the men's.

To make you understand: while the 10th classified in the men's division finished with 693 points, the 10th classified in the women's division obtained 376 points!

** We remind you that the scores have changed with the new rules: the less points, the higher you place!

Canadian athlete Jeff Adler topped the standings, over 100 points clear of runner-up Tola Morakinyo

Mal O'Brien rocked this year. Like Adler, she also won only one WOD in the entire CrossFit® Open: the 23.2A.

If you recall, the XNUMX-year-old American athlete was the youngest ever to win an event CrossFit® Games two years ago, the same year he won the rookie of the year award.

It is currently the second fittest woman in the world and, since the pregnancy of Tia Clair-Toomey kept her away from competition, it's very likely that she could clinch the title this year.

According to the results (unofficial at the time of writing), O'Brien scored 130 points while Paige Powers finished in second place with 151 points.

Reggie Fasa and Elena Carratala': the European winners of the CrossFit® Open 2023

Instead, let's talk about the continent that interests us most: Europe. We had some great twists here too.

Women's division

Shortly before 23.2 we did a live broadcast with Elisa Fuliano and Coach Teo and Andrea di Salvatore, where the athletes told us their expectations for this Open 2023.

In fact, Elisa already entered the European top 5 in the second week and never came out from there.

He narrowly lost his lead, finishing with 381 points, just 70 points less than the first placed, Elena Carratala'.

The Spanish athlete by the way was teammate of Fuliano and Antea Longo al Wodapalooza 2023, with the MED GIRLS team, finishing 14th overall.

Here are some of Elena's achievements:
