Who Won the 2022 NOBULL CrossFit® Games?

The final day of the NoBull CrossFit® Games 2022 began ominously after a stormy night. The North Park field was drenched with light rain and the possibility of thunderstorms looming. But that wasn't enough to stop the show, because it's time to crown the fittest man, woman and team in the world.

The two final events brought us back a little to the "old school”Of CrossFit®. Basic movements, beautiful intense and decisive:

11 Event

12 Event

Results for the men's division

For the male part, there was a tough battle between Justin Medeiros, Ricky Garard and Roman Khrennikov until the end.

Medeiros prevailed, winning the title of Fittest on Earth 2 for the 2022nd consecutive time!

The career of Justin Medeiros

Two years ago Medeiros competed for the first time at the CrossFit® Games. He finished third, received the Rookie of the Year award and aimed for better results.

The year last won the CrossFit® Games for the first time and continued his stratospheric career by also winning the Rogue Invitational. And now he's done it again.

This season, he has worked hard: event after event, he kept his head down and faced every training that was proposed to him with determination.

Ricky Garard wore the leader's jersey for the longest time, but it was in the last 4 events that Justin Medeiros, also called The Mullet, took over and never looked back.

Justin Medeiros finished the 2022 CrossFit® Games ahead of Roman Khrennikov and Ricky Garard in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Final event: Jackie Pro results

For time:

Women: 65 lb
Men: 95 lb

Location Athlete Time
1 Lazar Dukic 07:59.70
2 Roman Khrennikov 08:09.71
3 Cole Sager 08:10.64
4 Justin Medeiros 08:26.34
5 Samuel Kwant 08:26.73

Medeiros arrived at this event with a great advantage over competitors. He had to finish in the top 9 in the overall standings to defend his title of Fit Man on Earth.

And he succeeded!

With his pace of work, he kept watching Khrennikov to figure out how far or close he was and, as soon as the bell rang for the start of the event, he kept Khrennikov at a distance.

In the end Khrennikov won the heat, but Justin quickly went after him, which, in the end, was his goal.

Results for the women's division

For the women's division, we almost deluded ourselves that this year the leadership was Mal O'Brien or, perhaps, Laura Horvarth.

Hand. Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr, the undisputed queen, unsheathed her claws in the final two days, crushing her opponents, to end up crowned for the 6th time as the fittest woman in the world.

This makes her the first individual CrossFit® Games athlete in history to win six individual titles.

But Tia-Clair is the first to win six.

In the final event of the women's individual division, Slovakian athlete Karin Freyova was powerful and fast during the first heat. She beat all the other competitors, winning the event.

Haley Adams chased Britain's Lucy Campbell throughout the wod, but the British athlete managed to keep Froning's pupil at bay.

In the final heat, Horvath, Toomey-Orr, O'Brien, Wells, Brandon and Lawson rowed consistently and confidently. Laura Horvarth has taken over the thrusters, but lost in speed on the HMs.

The event is finished with a great victory from Kara Saunders! Tia crossed the line with a time of 09'47 '' (10th in the heat) and went straight to hug her family and Shane, her coach and husband.

At the end of the event, when Nicky interviewed her he asked her the fateful question: "will we see you next year or is this a greeting?". Laughing, the Australian star replied: “This is the real question… we'll see!”.

Results for Teams

CrossFit® Mayhem Freedom was crowned the fittest on Earth for the Team category; is the sixth time that Rich Froning's team has won the title, and continues to claim to be the most successful team in the sport.

During this season, while still being in the top 3, it was speculated that this year Froning and his team would not have swept as usual. But after the fourth event, CrossFit® Mayhem Freedom took the top spot and never looked back.

Before the last event, CrossFit® Mayhem Freedom was at the top of the podium 60 points clear of second place in CrossFit® Oslo Navy Blue.

This meant Rich Froning and his teammates would have to finish the event at least before 9th overall to secure 1st title.

Well, they came first.

Rich Froning hinted at retiring last year but continued because his wife's cousin wanted to compete. This year, with the creation of Annie Thorisdottir's team (CrossFit® Reykjavik), Froning saw the opportunity to prove to the world that he still has what it takes to win, and he did!

CrossFit® Mayhem Freedom he took home 7 wins in the heats. Personally, this is the XNUMXth time Froning wins the CrossFit® Games: four times individually and now six times as part of a team.

Really impressive result.
