CrossFit® Games 2020 are over: final recap

CrossFit® Games

It goes without saying that this year's CrossFit® Games were totally out of the ordinary. With a first stage online, 30 athletes each competed in his box to try to earn one of the 5 places for the second phase in presence in California.

The 5 More Fittest on Earth who qualified, met in Aromas last weekend and competed fiercely for the title.

In the end, you already know that Mathew Fraser and Tia Clair Toomey they conquered the podium giving us an exciting final. Both, hand in hand, crossed the finish line smiling!

But now let's review the last ones 3 WOD is Dave Castro proposed to the athletes:

Men:

The day started with a different event. Each round, a winner and ultimately the average of the athletes' results for each round decided the ranking.

Samuel Kwant was the winner with Fraser just behind. Justin Medeiros, Noah Oslen and Jeffrey Adler finished the ranking.

Women:

For women, no surprises. Tia-Clair, a very strong swimmer, won another first place. Katrin Davidsdottir, Haley Adams, Kari Pearce and Brooke Wells completed the ranking.

11 Event

100-yard sprint

100 yard sled push

100-yard sprint

Men:

Samuel Kwant and Mathew Fraser gave us so many emotions fighting until the last second! With a spectacular final, Fraser won by just 45 thousandths. Justin Medeiros, Noah Oslen and Jeffrey Adler closed with a substantial difference.

Women:

Tia Clair Toomey basically walked in this race. Without difficulty, Tia won by a margin of two seconds over Brooke Wells, second placed.

Katrin Davidsdottir, Haley Adams and Kari Pearce completed the ranking.

12 Event

For Time

1 mile run

100 HSPU

200 pistols

300 push ups

1 mile run

Whaaaaaat ?! What WOD was this?

In our opinion it is illegal to create such a heavy workout, but Dave Castro did it ... A "MurphWorsened which put a strain on all the athletes. A breathtaking finale!

Women:

Kari Pearce dominated the race from the start. He managed the race very well and then it was a rocket to do the HSPUs.

Katrin Davidsdottir, who finished second, also had an impressive performance. Tia-Clair, already champion, competed with her training partner, Fraser, and finished third.

Haley Adams did her best and her disappointment was evident, but she is certainly a young promise of our sport. Brooke Wells finished last.

Men:

Competing alongside Tia-Clair in this latest event, Fraser closed the 2020 Games with another win, his 5th in a row.

Noah Oslen, who disappointed us a little throughout the competition, at least had a good performance in this last event.

Justin Medeiros, Jeffrey Adler and Samuel Kwant finished the ranking.
