What is the difference between coach and head coach?

coach

It is now known that to teach CrossFit® in the box you need to have a training certificate released by CrossFit® Inc. These certifications were created on 4 levels of coaching (from level 1 to level 4).

But, besides the coach, there is another figure inside the gym: the head coach. And the two have very different roles!

Do you know the difference between Head Coach and Coach?

We'll explain it to you.

The head coach can create workouts and WOD, define and teach coaches the dynamics of the classes and coordinate the service and performance strategies of the box, being a sort of box manager (if not already the owner / manager).

It is he who will manage the part of equipment and accessories necessary to optimize each training session and will ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Instead the coach, assists the head coach in training preparation, manages the class and establishes the relationship between the box and the students. He will be a explain the blackboard and to illustrate techniques and movements for beginners.

CrossFit® Inc warns that the ideal number of students per coach is 12 to one. So you can pay more attention to beginners and avoid wrong movements and serious injuries.

This certification does not aim at complete training; it's just a credential and an initial basis for becoming an affiliate and receiving future certifications.

CF-L1 includes instructions on: CrossFit® concepts and methodology, fundamental movements, programming to optimize training results and nutritional strategies to support fitness.

As CrossFit® methods evolve, new techniques are created or improved over time, so the certificate is valid for 5 years from the date of issue.
