We left another behind beautiful race weekend. Forty elite crossfitters of the world gathered in the United Arab Emirates in weekend of 16-18 December 2021 to give their best, hoping to get on the podium of one of the greatest international competitions of this sport: the Dubai CrossFit® Championship.
At the end of the last day of competition, Roman Khrennikov and Laura Horvath they were victorious in their respective divisions.
Lazar Đukić and Ricky Gerard were the first on the men's podium; Kristin Holte and Gabriela Migała won silver and bronze respectively for women.
For those who missed it, the entire competition was streamed on official channels DCC YouTube and CrossFit®Games.

Stay Frosty - 1A
Believe it or not, the first event in Dubai featured snow! Athletes started at Ski Dubai, a ski resort indoor. The mission was to complete 500m of Skierg and then a 400m run up and down a slope.
Il time cap was 16 minutes for men and 17 for women. Ricky Garard, who returned to racing after a four-year suspension for doping, won the men's victory with the time of 14:59. Khrennikov finished second by seven seconds. Đukić earned third place with a time of 15:19.
As for women, the 2013 CrossFit® Games champion, Sam Briggs, won with the 16 time: 47, Mikaela Norman lost just by 1 sec in less 16:46 and the third place went to Migala with 16:59.
Event 1B
Event 1B took place in the same location as Event 1A. It was simpler in instructions, but still very demanding in execution. THE competitors had to run up the 700-meter track wearing a vest. Men's vests weighed 20 pounds and women's vests 14.
Garard took another win with a time of 3:05. Khrennikov took silver for the second consecutive event coming in at 3:24. Frenchman Willy Georges finished third three seconds later.
For the women's division, Holte won by finishing the race in 1:57, Horvath finished second two seconds later and the bronze went to Rebecka Vitesson, who completed the course two seconds after Horvath.
Lift-off
This rehearsal was held at the Dubai Tennis Center. The athletes had to do theirs ceiling in clean and jerk. Five men were able to do 165kg lifts!
3 Event
This was an endurance challenge! Here is the list of exercises and reps requirements:

4 Event
This was a knockout event involving the bike erg, le walk vertically and overhead squats.
Four rounds in repetition and gradually the field was reduced (10, 10 | eight, eight | six, six | eight | four).

10 overhead squats (85 kg / 60 kg)

5 Event
2-4-6-8-10 reps of:
Ring muscle ups
thrusters (60 kilograms / 40 kilograms)

Choice of athletes - Parts A and B
The organizers randomly chose Andrea Nisler and Mahmood Shalan to decide the next two training sessions that would be performed by all.
Both athletes chose to take a community approach and consulted colleagues before making a final decision.

The race came to an end with an event that foresaw rope climb, jerks, deadlifts and lunges.
