Who is Justin Bergh?
Justin Bergh began his career at CrossFit ® in 2010 as Commercial Director, before moving up to General Manager.
He kept his position despite many management changes and upheavals, including new CEOs (Don Faul), layoffs and relocationsas well as the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here's how he describes his role as CEO: “Managing the day-to-day operations of the CrossFit® Games. Executive production of all media coverage related to the competition, business development for the Games, licensing for CrossFit®* Inc.”
Don Faul's words:
“After 13 years, Justin Bergh will be leaving CrossFit®*. Justin Bergh has done a lot for our community and we are extremely grateful for the role he played in making CrossFit ® what it is today. Dave Castro will lead our sports team as we prepare for Gamedel 2023.”
Dave will work closely with the team to ensure a smooth transition,” said Faul.
For those who don't remember…
For Dave Castro, got fired by CrossFit® in January 2022, to then return to the company in June as a "key affiliate".
Today he is part of the CrossFit® team again, but he's no longer race director like he used to be, this position is currently held by Adrian Bozman.
Justin Bergh's departure comes just six weeks before the 17th CrossFit ® Games, an event expected to draw up to 14.000 spectators a day.
With the news of Dave Castro's return, so many doubts begin; one of the big questions is exactly what the changes will be for the season (if ever there was such a possibility), as this news comes just a few months before the grand finale!
