… Do you remember that we said in the last article that still nothing was known and that we will be informed on the situation of the CrossFit® Games 2020?
In fact, on Friday 7 August 2020, CrossFit® Inc announced some major changes in the format of the Crossfit® Games 2020.
Of all the news, the most important is that we will have two stages of competition in which the it will be online first , second presence, in California, to crown, as always, the most man and woman Fittest on Earth 2020.
How will the CrossFit® Games take place?
In the first part of the competition we will have the 30 men and 30 women previously invited to the Games and that we remember being the top 20 athletes classified at the Open and the winners of the Sanctionals events. They will have to compete directly in their own countries, that is, in their homes or boxes, totally online.
This first stage will determine the ranking for the finals and the prize pool from 6th to 30th place. The first 5 men and the first 5 women of this first phase will compete in California following the COVID-19 safety protocols.
Dates are not yet confirmed, but the first phase should take place a September and the finals about 4-5 weeks after. Both stages will be broadcast to Crossfit® fans around the world through social media and each athlete will be judged by a team member of Judges by Crossfit®.
