If you've read last week's article, you already know that we have decided to create our own pre-season ranking of our favorite athletes, those we think will make it to the podium in the next Games.
We have talked of the top 10 men and it was quite difficult to decide who to place in the rankings. Today, however, we talk about the lionesses, the CrossFitters with the most potential (according to our point of view!).

Here is our top 10 women 2022:
Tia Clair Toomey
Better results
1st place 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017 CrossFit® Games
2nd place 2016 and 2015 CrossFit® Games
1st place Rogue 2021, 2020, 2019
1st place Wodapalooza 2020 and 2019
We could only say: “5 times champion”And stop it here, but her he also won nine events last year at the Games… nine! Against many other good athletes!
Annie Thorisdottir gave her a hard time at Arrogant, but Tia Toomey faced that challenge without ever looking back.
It doesn't matter that she took a few months off to qualify for the sledding Olympics with the Australian national team; her fitness level is far superior to the rest of her!
In our opinion, barring injuries, the sixth title at the next Games will be his.
Laura Horvath
Best results:
2nd CrossFit® Games 2021 and 2018
4th Rogue 2021; 5th Rogue 2020
2° Lowlands 2021
Laura Horvath finished second at the Games for a full two years and finished each race in the top half of each event last year at Madison.
His physical shape is always improving and he will certainly be able to reach the podium in 2022.
haley adams
Best results:
5rd CrossFit® Games 2021
4rd CrossFit® Games 2020
6rd CrossFit® Games 2019
1st CrossFit® Games Girls 17-18 2018
5th Rogue 2021; 8th Rogue 2020
5th Wodapalooza 2020
Always consistent, Hayley Adams is considered one of the fittest athletes in the world who has not yet reached the podium.
Every year we see her fight tooth and nail for that coveted result ... Who knows, maybe 2022 is her year!
Gabriela Migala
Best results:
6rd CrossFit® Games 2021
3rd Lowlands Throwdown 2021
3th Rogue 2021
7th Wodapalooza 2019
Gabriela Migala's 2021 season speaks for itself: 6th at the Games, 3rd at Rogue and 3rd in Dubai. This justifies the introduction of her in this ranking.
Its only weakness is the legless rope climb. In 2018, a lack of this skill prevented her from advancing beyond the First Cut, and, last season, there were no competitions in which she took part.
We will see in 2022!
KaraSaunders
Best results:
2rd CrossFit® Games 2017
4rd CrossFit® Games 2018
3th Rogue 2020
It was since the beginning of last season that it was noticed that something was wrong with Kara Saunders. In fact, she revealed that she was ill and, in the end, she had to retire.
It looks like it's on its way to recovery and will likely come back on floor in this season. If she does, she will be a very competitive athlete in the women's field and she will have a great chance of getting on the podium if things go right.
Mallory O'Brien
Best results:
7rd CrossFit® Games 2021
8th Rogue 2021
2st Granite Games 2021
3rd North American Quarterfinals 2021
This little superstar surprises us year after year. Last season he finished 2nd in the Open behind Toomey, 3rd in North America in the quarter-finals, 2nd in a semi-final in person (Granite Games) and managed to take home 7th place at the Games and 8th place at Rogue.
We can't wait to see her in the 2022 Games!
Bethany Shadburne
Best results:
8rd CrossFit® Games 2019
1st West Coast Classic 2021
2th Wodapalooza 2020
4th Wodapalooza 2018
Bethany Shadburne was also another victim of a disease in 2021! She seemed to us to be in great shape West Coast Classic and she seemed to be very prepared for the Games, before revealing her malaise.
We will never know how well last season would have gone; we hope to find out this year!
Katrin Davidsdottir
Best results:
10rd CrossFit® Games 2021
2rd CrossFit® Games 2020
1st CrossFit® Games 2016, 2015
15th Rogue 2021; 13th Rogue 2020
1th Wodapalooza 2018
Although there are several women who beat Davidsdottir last season at both the Games and Rogue, we have to rank her for experience and consistency over time: this woman definitely knows how to compete!
In case anyone has forgotten, he has achieved seven consecutive top 10 finishes at the Games and, prior to last year, was six consecutive top five finishes.
She has made a big move this season by moving to her home country Iceland and we have a feeling this will be a welcome change for her in 2022.
Amanda Barnhart
Best results:
9rd CrossFit® Games 2021
7nd CrossFit® Games 2020 and 2019
15rd CrossFit® Games 2018
10th Rogue 2021; 7th Rogue 2020
4th Wodapalooza 2020
1st Down Under CrossFit® Championship 2019
Another athlete who has been largely underestimated despite her constant excellence over the past three seasons: 7th in both 2019 and 2020 and 9th last season.
Often overshadowed or forgotten among all the other phenomenal athletes, Barnhart is perpetually in the Games top ten.
Brooke Wells
Best results:
5rd CrossFit® Games 2020
8rd CrossFit® Games 2018
6rd CrossFit® Games 2016
10th Rogue 2020, 7th Rogue 2019
6th Wodapalooza 2020, 2nd Wodapalooza 2017, 1st Wodapalooza 2016
It is not excluded that Brooke Wells could have aimed for the podium at the CrossFit® Games last year, were it not for the devastating elbow injury he sustained.
However, what happened happened and he is now on the road to recovery. As we have already mentioned, the ability of athletes to make incredible recoveries from a accident is high and, if Wells makes it through the qualifying rounds, there's a good chance he'll be at least a top ten podium contender this year too.
