Premise: it will be a clash between titans of goodness: the Fiesta Ferrero , Enerzona Orange and Chocolate. Why are we doing this, you will ask? After a hard workout it is important to eat, to provide the body with all the substances it needs to accelerate recovery and combat muscle catabolism.
But sometimes we are unable to eat a normal meal (due to logistical or time issues) and, therefore, we must consider some alternative options. Among these are the Fingers nutritional: a more practical and convenient alternative to consume compared to classic protein shakes.
And if one day we didn't even have those with us and the only easily available alternative was a classic one Twinkie energy? To be clear, one of those that the confectionery industry has introduced us to through the various advertising hits? How does it look nutritionally?

Fiesta and Enerzona compared
Let's try to understand it together by comparing the orange-chocolate Enerzona bar with the classic Fiesta snack. On paper they look very similar: both are flavored with orange and covered with chocolate. What distinguishes them then? To know we must read the label carefully.
A good practice that we recommend - always - to all Crossfitters. Wed find that of the Fiesta e Wed instead, that relating to the Enerzona product.
Nutritional values of the two products
The first thing they notice when comparing the values for 100g is the difference inenergy supply: 1879 kj against 1641 kj. This is related to the fact that a Fiesta is used greater quantity of cup sugar (which in fact appears as the first ingredient on the list) and carbohydrates, along with some liquor.
As for the contribution of fats e carbohydrates, also in this case the Fiesta snack contains more: respectively 21 g (of which saturated g. 12,1) and 55 g against 12,7 g (of which g.saturated 6.7) and 35 g of the Enerzona bar.
Specificity of the Enerzona bar
The element that it really differentiates the products (as was also easy to expect) is the protein content. The Enerzona bar is in fact a specific product designed for athletes, with a high quantity of protein (28,3 g versus 3,9 g for the Fiesta).
Furthermore, this product, like others of the Enerzona line, has been formulated on the basis of the low-calorie food strategy devised by Dr. Barry Sears. Note as "zone diet“, It revolves around the following schedule to determine the calorie intake of each meal: 40% carbo, 30% protein, 30% fat.
Another aspect that differentiates the Enerzona bar is the presence of a high number of fibers and adding Vitamin E. The former are useful because they mitigate glycemic peaks and promote digestion; the second is a valid antioxidant.
We learn to know what we eat
Neither product uses hydrogenated vegetable fats - and this is good - because as you know they have been placed in the dock, as co-responsible for the increased cardiovascular risk.
In conclusion, the careful consultation of the ingredients and the nutritional sheet (quick operation, once we learn to read it) provides us with all the information necessary to evaluate the quality and compatibility of a given product with our needs and nutritional regimen followed.
