The best chance for a CrossFit® athlete to see their followers increase rapidly is, without a doubt, the most important week of the year for all CrossFitters: the week of CrossFit® Games 2022, where this sport is in the spotlight around the world.
Let's see which athletes have gained the most followers on Instagram thanks to the Games!
The top three Individuals athletes in the Games who have gained the most followers are all women:
- Dani Speegle: collected 37.805 new followers during the Games week
- Mal O'Brien: silver medal with 34.713 new followers
- Tia Clair Toomey: bronze medal with 31.385 new followers.
The first three men were:
- Justin Medeiros: the champion got 24.625 new followers on Instagram
- Ricky Garard: silver medal with 22.205 new followers
- Guilherme Malheiros: bronze medal for the tenth place with 20.896 new followers.
From the point of view of the percentage of followers, Elisa Fuliano, who now has more than 15.000 followers on Instagram, won with 34,27% more.

One important thing: when it comes to new followers in CrossFit®, it seems it helps to dominate the cap-raising event, as both Speegle and Malheiros put on a show when they won the sandbag-to-shoulder event on Saturday. August 6.
Additionally, last season, Malheiros garnered the third most followers of any athlete after winning the snatch.
New followers in Games 2021 VS 2022
If we compare this year's numbers with those of 2021, no one has come close to the number of followers who gained the top six winners last year:
- Danielle Brandon: excelled the previous year with 77.702 more followers
- Brooke Wells: sixth classified, he accumulated 38.590
Brandon ranked higher this year than last year (fourth place in 2022 while she finished eleventh in 2021), but gained far fewer followers this year (24.209) than in 2021.
