You can call him gym training etiquette or unspoken rules, but know that in every gym, in addition to the written rules that are valid and mandatory for everyone, there are other unwritten rules to be respected.
Let's find out all together!
8 unwritten rules of the CrossFit ® Box
Don't be smelly
If you sweat easily and tend to smell bad during and after training, it is good to rinse often, use a good deodorant and perhaps provide for a further change in mid-workout; no one wants to train next to someone who stinks, let's face it!
Allow other people to take turns with tools
If you are using a piece of equipment and there is another person who wants to train at that time, give him the opportunity to do his series in your moments of break; It is not polite to deny another athlete this possibility even if you started that exercise first.
Put the weights back in place
This rule is written in some Box CrossFit ®, but despite this, many athletes do not respect it; every time you use a tool, a barbell or a machine you have to put it back in its place or unload it.
Isn't it nicer and simpler when you can start an exercise quietly without having to set up discs, weights and barbells?
Wipe away the sweat
We talked about the smell of sweat that should be avoided as much as possible, but even the drops of sweat are not the best; always use a clean towel before using any machinery and if you sweat a lot, rinse often and disinfect every tool you use with sanitizing wet wipes.
The other athletes will thank you!
Don't drop the barbells
Throwing weights on the ground is not only dangerous, but also for real lazy people, as well as making noise and disturbing all the other athletes. Barbells and dumbbells should be placed on the ground and not thrown and dropped, I recommend it.
The only exception is in some gyms used for powerlifting where there are special platforms where the weight can be dropped.
Don't talk to people during the wod
If other athletes are in the middle of an exercise, don't come over to chat with them; not only could this create discomfort and discomfort, but it could also put their safety at risk, especially if they are lifting a heavy weight.
Don't wear too much perfume
Scents that are too intense can make you headaches or nauseous; the gym is not a night club or disco, so keep your perfume in your bag for after the shower.
Do not stockpile tools
This happens especially in the CrossFit ® boxes where a lot of tools are used in a short time; try to fix everything immediately after using it, so it will be available again for other athletes.
