After i quarter-final resultsle, everyone's attention is obviously directed to the Semifinals. For the uninitiated, the Semifinals are events created by organizers that earn the CrossFit® Seal of Approval as a competition”Semifinal licensed” and, this check, is not at all easy to obtain.
There are several points to be respected in order to enter this classification. And, as you can imagine, maintaining an event of this magnitude is hard work.
So hard that the organizers of the Lowlands Throwdown, Robbin Stalma and his wife, Floor Jongmans, have decided not to continue this year.

Lowlands Throwdown: the words of the former organizers
The pair, who have long been responsible for running the European event, announced they would be leaving the competition on Wednesday 22 March.
In a note, they expressed the need to take more care of their personal and professional life, since the event took up too much time in their days.
Thus, after almost 10 years of activity, the couple leaves to make room for the new organizers.
“We are proud to see where we have come and what the event has become. None of this would be possible without our team, volunteers, all the athletes and our fantastic partners and sponsors. We want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their support and trust over the past few years." the couple explained in a statement.

Lowlands Throwdown: Who's In Charge From Now On?
Now it will be CF Events, with Joost Prinsen and Karen Tovmasjan as organisers, to take the helm.
The former organizers wanted to wish the newcomers good luck:
“We wish CF Events all the best in organizing the Lowlands Throwdown. We look forward to seeing another decade of growth for this competition."
La CF Events is anything but a company unknown to the European CrossFit® audience. In fact, a quick look at the company profile shows that CF Events already runs 8 CrossFit® events across Europe.
Between these, three are CrossFit® sanctioned events. This shows that the team that joined Lowlands Throwdown already know how to work with branding requirements.
Thus, we have the Dutch Throwdown, Deutschland Showdown and Barcelona Throwdown as authorized events.

Therefore, we can expect an event just as good or even better than what has been held at Lowlands Throwdown over the years.
In fact, at least that's what the new organizers promise to do:
“We would like to thank Robbin & Floor for their leadership and would like to announce that we will be focusing on 'Bringing back the classics'. The concept of the event will remain the same,” the CF Events team announced in a statement.
